MY BIO
Raised in Southern California, Kallan began reporting in her community as a young teenager. At the age of 15, she spent her summer working to save money to purchase her own video equipment and software. She quickly grew passionate about the journalism industry and became the Executive Producer for her high school’s daily live broadcast.
After moving to New York to continue studying Broadcast & Digital Journalism, she also explored Policy Studies as a dual major. Throughout her studies, Kallan proved to be a tenacious journalist with a critical lens. She uncovered a sex trafficking scare, reported on hate crime protests, and closely studied international climate change policy. In addition to her reporting, Kallan became keen to social media content production and management.
Kallan has documented Middle-Eastern and American teenagers overcoming cultural conflicts, as well as researched policy solutions to community concerns and national policy initiatives. She is known for her in-depth commitment to her stories and passion for human rights coverage. Always curious, Kallan is a force to be reckoned with.
